Este ha sido un año muy caótico, y entre todo lo que ha sucedido lo que menos esperaba era escuchar una noticia como ésta; me rompe el corazón tener que escribir estas lineas. Hace unas horas el reconocido y aclamado diseñador de moda dominicano Oscar dela Renta falleció a los 82 años.
Aquel joven que creció en las calles de Santo Domingo y se aventuró a estudiar artes en España no había imaginado en quien se convertiría. Sus diseños abrazaron las siluetas de celebridades clásicas como Audrey Hepburn y Elizabeth Taylor hasta Madonna y la fabulosa actriz Sarah Jessica Parker.
El imperio dela Renta sin duda hará tributo a todos los años de esfuerzo y pasión del diseñador, te vamos a extrañar.

This has been a chaotic year, and no matter what happened I never expected to hear this; it breaks my heart to notice you about it but a few hours ago the renowned and acclaimed Dominican fashion designer Oscar dela Renta passed away at the age of 82.
The young guy who grew up in the streets of Santo Domingo and ventured to study arts in Spain never imagined himself as a fashion legend. His elegant designs dressed some of the most classic celebrities like the actresses Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, he was also the king of fashion in Sex and the City.
Oscar dela Renta was not just about fashion trends, he was about independent women, about globalization and beautiful, elegant and easy to wear designs, he is a legend, he is revolution, and we´ll miss you Oscar dela Renta.
